Moerkholla (Mørkholla) – The Dark Hole – not so dark anymore
In the Fagernes Mountain massive there is a place called Moerkholla (Norwegian: Mørkholla) – or ominously translated into English; The Dark Hole. As the name implies, not much sun reaches the bottom there, but it is somewhat brighter there now, than in the dark season during the winter.
Delightful Winter
Popped out shortly to shoot a few pictures today. Here’s the first. A wide angle shot of the inner parts of the Ofoten Fjord.
SOPA / PIPA postponed indefinitely
The SOPA and PIPA law proposals are postponed indefinately! Which means the World’s Population – not the Entertainment Industry – still has the democratic control over the internet! (For now)

Suncovered Mountain Tops
The sun is approaching the low land fast! Heres today’s view of the surrounding mountain tops of Narvik and Ankenes.
I am so sorry…
- Do you prefer a safe Internet?
- Do you prefer a stable Internet?
- Do you prefer the old security of rights “Innocent until proven Guilty” to still be a golden rule in democratic societies?
- Do you support a free, prosperous Internet
- Do you oppose giving control over the World’s most significant tool for Prosperity and Freedom of Expression to the entertainment industry and dictatorius regimes?
Please, watch these film:

This has NOTHING to do with protecting artists’ Copyright! They are already protected through the law over most parts of the world – and I support the ones I like by buying their music and films.
This has EVERYTHING to do with giving the Entertainment Industry (and subsequently corrupt regimes) the TOTAL control over The Internet…
Still not convinced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJIuYgIvKsc
- If you are a US citizen, please, contact your congressman today and protest!
- Do you know a US citizen, please urge him/her to protest!
On 1/24 it could be too late… The clock is ticking…
Snow Shovelling The Easy Way – Winter 2010
Vodpod videos no longer available.
The tractor is a Volvo from 1967. The video is 2x speed, so, yes – it took a little bit longer to clear all that snow…
My mother’s little friends
My mother sees to the little airborne friends during the winter. They are having an absolute fiest on all the delicious food she is serving them.
Although lighting conditions were poor today, I managed to get a couple of shots of a Great Tit (Norwegian: Kjøttmeis, latin: Parus major)
The Sun is here
Although there was quite a lot of moisture in the air that dampened the light today, this picture of Læigastinden (Laeigastinden) 1,320 meters above sea level indicates that the sun is back again and will soon shine on the beeches as well.
Milder weather
The temperature is rising slightly and snow showers have been passing the city today. Popped out for a quick shot this evening, and captured a single-image wide-angle shot of the city reflecting it’s lights into the snowy clouds.
Celebrating 12,000+ visitors..!
My humble blog has turned 12,000+ visitors in 1 and 1/4 years. To celebrate, here is todays snapshot of the beautiful winter sky above Narvik!
The City and The Mountains instead
I went out in a cold (freezing) weather last night to take a few Northern Lights shots, but unbelievably messed up the focus. So I ended up with a panorama of the City Narvik and the surrounding mountains instead. The mountains are basked in the light from the full moon. Not any other full moon, but the very full moon the tribes of the North-American native people (indians) designated Wolf Moon! Please click on the photo, to see the finer details!
